imageTHE Craven Lodge of Freemasons has presented £1,000 to the Friends of Airedale Hospital to assist with the extension of their dementia garden project.

The group will use the money, which came from the Provincial Grand Master’s Fund, to plant trees and flowers that patients can touch and feel and to create a seating area.
Friends president Eileen Proud said: “This is a great benefit to patients. Here’s hoping for lots of sunshine and display colours in 2016.”

Roger Newhouse, Assistant Provincial Grand Master of the Province of Yorkshire West Riding, said Freemasonry continued to support local community projects, particularly following the recent floods.

Five thousand pounds had already been presented to Calderdale Community Support, another £5,000 was on its way to Leeds Community Support, and a further £5,000 will be donated to Bradford Community Support. These amounts are also being matched by The Mark Order of Master Masons.
